Wonky cutting, wonky sewing, steam iron…but this diamond facet still looks fab. I can work with this, no worries!

The diamond eyes are painted! Next up is applying the mirrored shards to the diamonds. But how Lucy? Ummm, I’m not sure yet. It’s time to experiment!

I think I have finished the diamond eyes on the gold kangaroo. I also did what I thought would be my final layer of green on the background.

The final touches of colour on the diamond eyes is complete. Now they just need some highlights and some drawing.

I’ve moved furniture and stuff, stuff, stuff around again and now I have a functioning sewing corner in the studio!

Facet #4 was easier to cut out thanks to my friend’s sewing hacks.

I love moving my art supplies and furniture around my studio. It takes a while of working in a studio to really know how the space is best used.

A friend gave me some sewing hacks to try and they’re awesome! I’ll get these facets stitched even faster now!

After 8 layers of paint, the kangaroo is now officially ‘gold’!

It works! The idea I had yesterday regarding a quicker method of piecing the painting rags onto the pattern is very efficient and effective.

I tried a different sewing technique with the shapes within the diamond facet.

I’ve just finished the Indian Yellow Hue layer. The last planned layer is Quinacridone/Nickel Azo Gold.

‘Male’ the painting is stalling. I find this often happens at this stage of making an artwork. But thats ok. I’ve noticed it, I’ve acknowledged it, now I’m ready to push on through to the end!

My latest PencilBooth email newsletter went out today. I’ve been working on that, getting it looking good.

Yesterday I added the leftover paint, paint water and rag to the other paint rag containers.

Today I used the latest dried rag and added it to the first facet of my fabric diamond 'Need'.

The kangaroo is almost gold. This layer of Dairylide Yellow is really amping up the overall colour!

I had grand plans of painting and sewing tonight, but alas I can barely keep my eyes open. I’m grateful I had enough energy to post this!
