Good decisions
Things will be quiet for a bit around here. I have something I am narrowing my focus on that I will share with you soon
Reassessing the work
Do all artists go through this? Is my artwork adding value to the world? Ugh, mental drama!
Lost without dialogue
I did a creative workshop last year which resulted in me posting on my blog every day during and since it finished.
New studio!!
Not just yet, but at some point this year, I will be making art from my new studio!
Why am I an artist?
I’d be doing all of these things whether I officially called myself ‘artist’ or not.
A question for you
I don’t want to stop at my ‘Need’ diamond. There is so much more to explore with textile waste, value, beauty and action.
Let the ideas roll
Sometimes it’s difficult having a full life + being an artist. Difficult, but I’m so grateful.
Winter is coming
My current studio is small but wonderful. The only big things in there are my artworks and the holes around the windows and doors.
Seeing inspiration
Jeff Koons’ stainless steel sculpture ‘Venus’ at the NGV has inspired me to make a life-size gold kangaroo sculpture - how hard could it be??
Excitement does not equal energy
Excitement to make artwork does not equal energy to make artwork. It’s time to have an early night.
What to do when art can’t be done?
Forced 'rest' is difficult, especially when I'm excited to work on my current art projects. No worries, there is tomorrow!
Sewing corner is functional!
I’ve moved furniture and stuff, stuff, stuff around again and now I have a functioning sewing corner in the studio!
Reorganising the studio
I love moving my art supplies and furniture around my studio. It takes a while of working in a studio to really know how the space is best used.
PencilBooth
My latest PencilBooth email newsletter went out today. I’ve been working on that, getting it looking good.
