Another try at a realistic timeframe

‘Male’ the painting is stalling. I find this often happens at this stage of making an artwork. But thats ok. I’ve noticed it, I’ve acknowledged it, now I’m ready to push on through to the end!

Here we go, let’s see if I can do this:

13/03 - 19/03 Finish painting the gold layers
20/03 - 26/03 Finish painting the diamonds and the background
27/03 - 02/04 Experiment with reflections in the diamond eyes - glass mirror, acrylic mirror, vinyl mirror, etc.
03/04 - 09/04 Extra drawing with the dip pen and High Flow acrylics, any other touchups
10/04 - 16/04 Isolation coats and varnish
17/04 - 23/04 Stretch the canvas
24/04 - 07/05 Experiment on frame off-cuts with chrome gold automotive spray paint and gold mirrored vinyl
08/05 - 14/05 Make the frame
15/05 - 21/05 Make the frame gold with chosen method
22/05 - 28/05 Painting done. Evaluate method and result. Get stuck into the painting ‘Young & Free’.

During these next few weeks and months I also plan to complete the text that accompanies this artwork. I’ll need to get back into working on that before I figure out a timeframe for it.

I reckon I can do this. Let’s see how I go!
