The sewing tips work

A friend gave me some sewing hacks to try: use washi tape on the sewing machine and cutting ruler to mark the seam allowance. Then I don’t have to draw the sewing line of each shape with pencil. Cut with a rotary cutter against the ruler. It’s awesome. I’ll get these painting rags sewn even faster now.

I finished the third facet. It took a while because I spent a lot of time figuring a few things out. This is how it looks now:

I had to hand stitch the middle white shape. I haven’t done any hand stitching in a while and I’m a bit rusty. But so far, this facet is my favourite. This is all three I’ve been working on:

Using my taped ruler and rotary to cut the shapes in the next facet will be a breeze! Thanks for the tips Pia!

But none of that tomorrow. The studio is a mess (as you can see by the old painting leaning against the fabric diamond). I can barely move in there! The little section I tidied the other day is still tidy however the rest is full to the brim of the big awkward things still left to put away. I need some space to move!! How do studios get so messy so quickly??
