Good decisions

It’s all good. After a lot of trying to juggle everything all at once I have decided to hold onto just one.

I have finished painting ‘Male’. The whole artwork is not yet complete (I’ve not yet stretched or framed it or attached the sequin film to the diamond eyes) however I am going to pause it here for a few reasons:

  • I thought I was fine making a big painting in a small space. I haven’t done it for many years and forgot how difficult it is. It’s been very difficult!!

  • My current studio is not weather-proof. It is currently freezing, damp and dusty. I don’t want to put too much energy into fixing it up as I will be moving studios in a few months to a permanent space I can make my own.

  • I will continue with ‘Male’ and ‘Young & Free’ when I have the space to do so.

I am finding posting every day on my blog fun, but at times draining. I began posting (‘shipping’) my work every day last year when I was doing a creative’s workshop. The encouragement and feedback from that workshop was invaluable. I did however experience burnout mid-way through. I am again feeling like this method of working has been fine for a while, but now I am ready for a change.

So the change is:

  • Things will be quiet for a bit around here. I have something I am narrowing my focus on that I will share with you soon. I feel excited, calm and ready to allow myself a night off every now and again!

See you soon! And thanks for joining me on my art journey! xoxooxox
