Random piecing is (hopefully) the winner

Today I tried cutting random shapes from the painting rags and stitching them together. Then I lay the pattern piece on top and cut it out. Boom. This facet, DONE.

Pieces of painting rags stitched together to make ‘fabric’.

Patchwork quilt work in progress. Fabric pieces lying on a green cutting mat, on a wooden surface.

The pattern piece is placed on top and the fabric is cut out.

The latest facet is finished, in record time!

I’ll need to make a few facets like this and stitch them together to see if it really worked. The shapes might be all wrong. But so far, I like it!
