Diamond breakthrough!
I had a breakthrough! Presenting a diamond eye that finally looks like a real diamond:
Tada!!! This isn’t the eye I was working on yesterday. I thought of a much easier way to make it look like a ‘real’ diamond - use a real diamond shape and stretch it to the shape I want. DONE.
I also made a hole in the scull for the diamond to fit into. I may or may not work on neatening up the gold around the eye. I probably will because it bothers me how messy it is, but then I am also aware that I could be delaying shipping the work if I try to perfect a 3D model that doesn’t need to be perfect,. It just needs to be good enough to make a painting from.
This is what today’s diamond looks like compared to the diamond I’ve been working on for ages:
AMAZING. So stoked. I’ll go back to my other diamonds and fix them up and get Old Mate sparkling in no time.
This picture shows the facets of a brilliant cut diamond (left) and how I stretched this shape to the shape of the kangaroo’s eye (right).
