Diamond-like diamonds

I’m trying to make the diamonds look more ‘diamond-like’. The facets of my diamond shapes need to be more similar to the way a real diamond is cut in order for the light to refract and appear bright. I won’t go as far as to use ‘real’ diamond shapes though because one of the main points (?) of my diamonds is to paint diamonds that have morphed and changed their shape and become something else.

This is how the eyes look now. I’ve included a brilliant cut diamond for comparison:

If I take away the gold kangaroo, this is how the diamond eyes look:

They look a lot better. The front facets are quite good but the back facets still need a bit of work.

The other problem is that the diamond eyes are sitting on top of bumps in the gold kangaroo where the eyes go:

That is something I will need to fix tomorrow.
