Spikes on the inside
A friend mentioned that the spikes on the gold frame make the frame look like a setting for a jewel.
Which made me realise, I should put the spikes on the inside of the frame, over the canvas so that it looks like the setting of a diamond!
The spikes could be on the outside like this: spiky frame, or they could look like this:
Number 1 is my favourite I think. The frame is holding onto the painting and the kangaroo, he can’t escape. He is also ‘presented’ like a diamond, elevating his status even more.
This is what the spikes would look like up close:
I think the spikes will be flat and sit flush with the rest of the frame to allow for more flat surfaces for the audience to see their reflection in.
I’m not sure how large the spikes will be, whether they are large and obvious, ‘medium’ like the ones above or quite small so they are not noticed straight away.
