Plasterboard - a possible solution

A friend has suggested ‘dry wall’ as a surface to stretch my kangaroo canvas on in my new studio which has brick walls. I’ve looked it up, it’s called ‘plasterboard’ in Australia. That’s what the ‘Bloom’ diamond is stretched on at the moment - it’s just taped to the wall with good quality painter’s tape.

Perhaps I could make a wooden frame and attach a large sheet of plasterboard to it. This would mean that I could have it leaning up against the wall or on the floor. it would be a very large frame, and difficult to move. I could have wheels on the edges so that I could slide it up and down the wall and along the ground, but that might be making it too complicated.

There is no sheet of plasterboard big enough for the kangaroo painting so I would have to join two pieces. It might just be easier if it’s attached to the wall. I will try and photograph the wall tomorrow. I will find some way to get this painting painted!
