The Making of a Silk Dress Coat – Part 5: Mother of the Bride

Hand painted silk Mother of the Bride outfit

Diamante Embellishments:

This Mother of the Bride silk dress coat is now nearly finished! Last thing to do is to add the diamante embellishments before the final sewing. I only put a few on as I didn’t want to over-power the hand painted silk.

The back of the silk coat. As you can see I only added a few diamantes to add a subtle sparkle.

The Final Sewing:

The coat still needs the sleeves sewn on and the sparkly buttons down the front.

The Mother of the Bride

This extravagant Mother of the Bride outfit is ready for it’s debut! Doesn’t she look beautiful? I’m very proud, she wears it well. :)

All that effort was definitely worth it!
