Plasterboard wall just for a painting

I investigated making a plasterboard (drywall) wall or frame to tape the canvas onto for the kangaroo painting.

My plan was for the painting to measure 3m x 1.35m (118" x 53"). I leave a 3" boarder around the edges of the painting to stretch over the canvas stretchers bars, so the size of the piece of canvas I need to attach to the plasterboard is 3.15m x 1.5m (124" x 59").

The closest size water resistant plasterboard I can get is 3.6m x 1.35m (142" x 53"). So I could either make the width of my painting 6" smaller or join two pieces together.

The cost and effort of joining two pieces of plasterboard together for an extra 6" of painting says to me: Lucy! Just make it 6" narrower! Done.

I haven’t measured the height of the wall in the studio either… if it is shorter than 3m maybe this kangaroo will be painted on an angle… or just make the painting as tall as the studio wall will allow…

I also worked on organising my studio today. There is still a lot to do but it is going to be fabulous! And organised and clean! My heart is singing just thinking about it!
