Plywood is the answer!

I haven't stuck to my big two week plan and I am falling behind with my progress on the gold kangaroo. There is a combination of reasons for this. What I have learnt is that if there is no strict deadline to complete something I can be more flexible in moving the tasks around - within 'reason' - however I'm not sure what 'reason' means to me yet.

I had a conversation today regarding the movable painting support. The guy I spoke to recommenced cement sheeting as he was worried that plasterboard would disintegrate with all the water I use on the canvas. When I researched it I came across plywood - and I think I have my easy answer! I have seen an other artist use this but didn't know what it was called and couldn't figure it out to search for it. 'Why didn't you just ask her what it was Lucy?' Well that is a good point. I will next time.

Anyway, plywood is made from fine layers of wood veneer glued together. I can buy a sheet of BIG plywood and have it cut to the size I need. It's waterproof. I won't need to make any frame to attach it to. Just a lovely big surface for me to tape my canvas to and slop paint on.
