The Making of a Silk Dress Coat – Part 5: Mother of the Bride
Diamante Embellishments: This Mother of the Bride silk dress coat is now nearly finished! Last thing to do is to add the diamante embellishments before the final sewing. I only put a few on as I didn’t want to over-power the hand painted silk. The back of the silk coat. As you can see I only added a few diamantes to add a subtle sparkle. The side of the silk coat. The Final Sewing: The coat still needs the sleeves sewn on and the sparkly buttons down the front. The front of the coat. The back of the coat. The Mother of the Bride This extravagant Mother of the Bride outfit is ready for it’s debut! Doesn’t she look beautiful? I’m very proud, she wears it well. :) Mother and Bride, walking down the isle. The happy couple are wed! (And it’s a good shot of the back of the coat) The Mother of the bride speech. Some side detail. All that effort was definitely worth it!
